And we have ceased fighting anything or anyone- even alcohol. For by this time sanity will have returned. We will seldom be interested in liquor. If tempted, we recoil from it as from a hot flame. We react sanely and normally, and we find that has happened automatically. We will see our new attitude toward liquor has been given us without any thought or effort on our part. It just comes! That is the miracle of it. We are not fighting it, neither are we avoiding temptation. We feel as though we had been placed in a position of neutrality- safe and protected. We have not even sworn off. Instead the problem has been removed, It does not exist for us. We are not cocky nor are we afraid. That is our experience. that is how we react so long as we keep in fit spirtual condition. pg. 85
The last sentence is the Key!

"Fit spiritual condition" Boy, is that a big key or what?!
The topic at a womens discussion tonight was what tools do we use during this holiday season?
One of the women is fearful of seeing her family at Christmas. They're not heavy drinkers or drunks, but there will be alcohol, and that's all she's focused on. We all had lots of suggestions, but the bottom line was: check your motives, pray to God, take action with your steps, and reach out to others (sponsor & network of AAs). She was really relived and in better spirits, she heard ideas she hadn't thought of, (imagine that, a drunk not thinking? hee hee) What she didn't realize is how much she helped us.
Blessings & Love,
Kimberly
P.S. Nice ride Santa!
