We went waking in the woods today after work. The doggy got his first swim of the year. It was quite nice out. I was hoping the hepaticals were open and they were. i took a pic of one of my favorite flowers which is despised by most folk around here

Went for a walk

Went for a walk in the woods after work today and this is what i found. Not sure what they are and the sunset was nice on the river.

Nighttime swamp hike

Yesterday I saw on facebook a notice of a walk into the swamps of Hudson mills metropark to witness the migration of salamanders, Saw some nice ones, Had a hard time capturing pics cause it was in the dark. it is sure neet to walk in the swamp at night. The wood frogs were mating and they were loud

A Nice Visit

My son Jerry came to visit me on my birthday.That was very nice and he brought Pie!!!!!!

A Strange Tree

While we were walking in the woods today, it was pointed out to me that this tree was interesting. I had walked by it without noticing its strange shape

. It was a pine that must have gotten injured many moons ago. The more we looked at it the more we admired it, like it had a story to tell.

Found them skunk cabbage

After seeing these were already seen I opened my eyes today while we were walking in the swamp and behold I saw them. Just starting to open. Spring is on its way!!! Yippie!!!
