Ride Leelanau

Went for a bicycle ride by the Sleeping Bear Dunes. Even though I only rode 24 miles which is the shortest route on the tour it was challenging at times. The weather was just beautiful and most of the ride was in solitude which for myself is what it needed. Had to sort some stuff out in my head. Feel accomplished.

Excited

Yesterday on the blog i posted about seeing some flowers that i never seen before. Upon investigation my friend found out what the white flower was. It is a Nodding Ladies' Tresses Orchid!!!! All by itself there it was waiting to be found. If it wasn't for the Monarchs I was trying to get a picture of I probably would not have ventured out into the brush where it was. I am quite excited about this find!!!!!

Beauty is close by

Went for a hike on the land next to the house today for the exercise. Sure glad I took the camera, Saw alot of Monarch butterflies and a couple flowers i haven't seen before. One we identified as great blue lobelia but cannot identify the white flower. Cant find it in any of the books we have.It was all by itself

In search of a Loon

Headed out on the moto again, this time investigating a sighting of a loon in the Ionia recreation area. we saw what might have been one but it was so far away. we went hiking on some trails around the lake and it was very nice

Ride down River Road

Had a nice ride up north on the Moto and took a ride down River Road in the Huron National forest.These were old stomping grounds for me. The spring water was as good as ever. A bald Eagle soared over our heads when we got down to the river

Trip to the Rosy Mound

Had a wonderful trip to west Michigan.I have always wanted to check out the Rosy Mound Nature preserve so we stopped in and went for a hike, What a beautiful place this is!!!! A well kept Natural area where you walk thru the different stages of the dunes and end up on a non crowded stretch of Lake michigan beach. Had a dip in the lake and nice walk down the beach. We saw plants and flowers that I have never seen before, I cannot wait to go back!!!!!
